The role of iOS Architect / Lead Developer is a key role and reports directly to the CEO. In addition to embodying our values of craftsmanship, boldness, curiosity and passion, the successful candidate will have a proven track-record in building and managing industry-leading development teams as well as architecting and developing best-in-class mobile applications.
The iOS Architect / Lead Developer will be tasked with creating the architecture for a premium content-led consumer app on both iPhone and iPad. The architecture should focus on reuse, maintainability, reliability, speed and fluidity. At home in the advanced libraries within the iOS SDK, the candidate is an expert at optimising for memory, battery-life and latency and can solve problems where others fail. The iOS Architect / Lead Developer will also be responsible for mentoring and reviewing the code their peers - accelerating their progress within the team. The candidate will insist on using workflows and tools that enhance the team’s productivity; Continuous Integration, TDD, Automated Release Systems and others recommended by the candidate. Also, a keen eye for design will be demonstrated with the ability to implement designs to the exact specification of a designer. Ideally, the candidate will demonstrate their own flair for design showing expert timing in their use of animations and effects. Finally, the drive and ability to create breath-taking apps is a must.
